Allen Iverson 32pts vs Toronto Raptors 04/05 NBA *Donyelll Marshall NBA Record 12 3-pointer
Description:
Donyell Marshall and the Toronto Raptors went out of their way -- way out -- to beat the
Philadelphia 76ers. Marshall tied the NBA record with 12 3-pointers and the Raptors
finished with a league-record 21 in their 128-110 victory over the 76ers on Sunday night.
Marshall was 12-for-19 from 3-point range and finished with a career-high 38 points to
help the Raptors match the franchise record for points. The Raptors, 21-for-34 from
3-point range, broke the previous NBA record of 19 3-pointers set by Atlanta in a victory
in Dallas on Dec. 17, 1996. "The basket just looked humongous out there today," Marshall
said. "My teammates kept telling me to shoot it. They kept saying no matter what play we
run we're going to look for you in the corner." The 76ers repeatedly left Marshall open in
the corner as Marshall tied the record set by Kobe Bryant for the Los Angeles Lakers
against Seattle on Jan. 7, 2003. The 6-foot-9 power forward tried to surpass Bryant's
record in the final 3 minutes, but one attempt rimmed in and out and he missed another
Marshall left to a standing ovation with 17.5 seconds left. His previous career high for
points was 37 against Milwaukee on Feb. 23, 2000. "You can't give a great shooter like
that open looks like that. It's suicide," Philadelphia's Chris Webber said. "I told him in
the first quarter if he gets those looks, he'd better go for the record and he did."
Marshall, who is from Pennsylvania, knew a lot of family members and friends were watching

NBA Toronto Raptors vs Washington Wizards Fri, February 3rd, 2012 [W 106 -89] Highlights
Description:
TORONTO -- Shame, illness and trouble at home were among the baggage the Toronto Raptors
carried onto the court with them. But after a blow out 106-89 win over the Washington
Wizards on Friday, only a sense of relief and even a little positivity hung over the
Raptors' locker-room. They did it behind a breakout performance from Amir Johnson, who
earned a double-double off the bench with 18 points and 13 rebounds, and a tenacity in the
paint that even broke a couple team records in the process. "They came out like a team
that was embarrassed by what happened against Atlanta and Boston," said Toronto head coach
Dwane Casey, referring to back-to-back blow out losses that included an ugly 100-64 defeat
to the Celtics on Wednesday. Leandro Barbosa scored 19 points, Linas Kleiza had 15, and
Jose Calderon chipped in with eight points and a season-high 17 assists for Toronto
(8-16), which had a franchise-high 61 rebounds in regulation and broke a six-year record
for second-chance points with 28. The defence-by-committee mindset seemed infectious, and
even point guard Calderon contributed with eight boards while the Wizards could only
counter with 37 rebounds. Casey had praise for everyone, but pointed to Johnson as the
difference maker against a suffering team from Washington. "Amir was a monster," said
Casey. "I thought he did a good job rolling to the basket and cleaning up the offensive
boards. ... Amir was very, very active. He did a good job bouncing back and having a good

NBA Toronto Raptors vs Boston Celtics Wed, February 1st, 2012 [L 64 -100]
Description:
BOSTON -- The compact schedule of the post-lockout NBA doesn't offer many breaks, so the
Boston Celtics created one of their own. All five Boston starters sat out the entire
fourth quarter, leaving the reserves to finish off Toronto in a 100-64 rout of the Raptors
on Wednesday night. The reserves didn't let up either as the Celtics crept above .500 for
the second time this season with their sixth win in seven games. "It was great," coach Doc
Rivers said. "Every guy came in and they did the same thing." The Celtics never trailed
and scored at least 20 points in every quarter while holding Toronto to 19 points or fewer
each period. Paul Pierce had 17 points and eight assists, Ray Allen and Brandon Bass added
12 points apiece and Avery Bradley scored 11 for the Celtics. At 11-10, the Celtics hardly
appear bound to hang another banner from the Garden rafters, but they do seem to have
adjusted to the quick turnaround and lack of practice time between games. The second half
turned out to be a bonus practice for the Celtics, who led by as much as 40. Allen said he
told the reserves to make good use of the time. "Go out there and really play as though
the score is 0-0. You guys make us better. You have an opportunity to prove to Coach that
you can get more minutes," Allen said. "That's a win-win for all of us when you can play a
game like that and get everybody opportunities." The timing for a blowout was great for
the Celtics, who survived a close call in Cleveland the night ...
