Toronto Raptors Notes, Quotes 2009-06-28
--Coach Jay Triano, who had the interim tag removed shortly after the season ended when he signed a three-year deal, is starting to put his staff together.

Marc Iavaroni, a long-time assistant in Phoenix and Miami and the former head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies, signed with Toronto as its lead assistant and Triano also brought back Hall of Famer Alex English, who's worked with the Raptors for six seasons now.

--The one thing the Raptors don't have a lot of is tradition; their longest-serving player is Chris Bosh, who has been with the team for just six seasons. But they are going to dip into their past for a developmental coach because they are expected to add Alvin Williams to the staff. Williams is a throwback to Toronto's greatest success, the starting point guard on the only Raptor team that's ever won a playoff series (in 2001) and he spent nine seasons with the squad.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "(When) I signed a three-year (extension in 2006)... I had a goal in mind, and that was to put myself in the best position (in 2010) ... I'm thinking I just want to stick to my goal, stick to what I was doing." Chris Bosh on his future plans.
