--When Toronto last played in Memphis, it was one of the worst nights of the 2008-09 season and a game that still sticks in the mind of coach Jay Triano. It was last February and Toronto, playing without an injured Chris Bosh, lost 78-70 and shot a ridiculously bad 29.5 percent from the field. "We played one of the worst basketball games ever and they were just as bad," said Triano. "Both teams packed the paint and both teams didn't make a shot. It was the first team to make a shot (wins) and they beat us." Toronto shot 44 percent from the field but stlll lost on Friday.
--Unlike a few teams that have decided to cancel the traditional morning shoot-around on game days, Toronto will keep it up.
That's good news to guard Jarrett Jack. The Raptors point guard not only takes part in the team's pre-game shoot-around to go over that night's opponent, he likes to stick around and get some extra shooting work in.
"In the mornings, I always like to get some more shots up, get myself pretty warm so I don't have to take everything during the first part of the game to get going," he said. "I've already got it pretty warmed up already."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I don't like getting out-worked by teams and I thought we were." -- Coach Jay Triano.
