The New Jersey Nets have traded forward Richard Jefferson to the Milwaukee Bucks for center Yi Jianlian and forward Bobby Simmons.

The trade could be interpreted as a way for the Nets to clear salary space for a possible run at LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh, who become free agents after the 2009-10 season.

Rumors swirl around Sonics, Clippers trade

The Seattle SuperSonics and Los Angeles Clippers may be switching picks in tonight's draft.

Maybe.

Multiple published reports have said the Sonics will be trading their fourth pick to the Clippers for the seventh spot and a 2009.

However, a source for the Sonics denies that particular deal is in the works, telling the Seattle Times "What's being reported is not true. It's inaccurate." They also told the Times there was nothing to reports that a Sonics/Clippers trade would be contigent on where O.J. Mayo was picked in the draft.

Draft update: The Seattle SuperSonics picked Russell Westbrook of UCLA with the fourth pick of the draft.

The Los Angeles Clippers picked Eric Gordon of Indiana with the seventh pick.
